About Me:

A Prayer…

O Great Spirit

whose voice I hear

in the wind and

whose breath gives life to all the worlds

I am small

but significant

My influence ripples out
like from pebbles tossed into a pond

Thank you for your guidance, wisdom and strength

Writing is a mixture of prayer from the Native American tradition and edits by Rannah McIntosh April 18, 2008

Last year was a very big year.  I became a grandmother, February 21, 2007. Welcome to the world beautiful baby West Gregory Burns! My son and grandson were Baptized May 27th.  I started a new job October 1. My son was married November 11 to a lovely woman, Amber, mother of my grandson, and Damien's girlfriend since they were both 16.

2008 is starting pretty big too! My work is bringing in a new computer system! I've bought my 1st camera. My grandson is a year old, walking and talking.

Now we're talking grandson:

I am an associate director of a data management unit in public education fundraising.  I am married (Dea) with four children, a son and a stepdaughter and two sons from my marriage; all of them living on their own. I am the proud owner of a two-year-old German Shepherd, Raven; simple, beautiful, loving without reservation, caring for a dog has many rewards.

I am very spiritual.  I've been consciously exploring my spirituality since about 15.  My father claimed to be an atheist and my mother was a Methodist.  As a child I attended church a few times with my mom, but did not grow up with specific religious teachings.

I read and learn and grow each day, exploring spirituality and my life in the world.  I am happy and feel very lucky to be here in the body at this time in history.  It is an exciting time with so many opportunities knocking at the door for humanity.

I think the jury is out on the human race really making it, but we have so much potential and there is so much hope!  I am pulling for us making the right decisions to bring the race together in a way that cares for the planet and the balance of life here.  Change takes time and there are many good signs.  My primary contribution is to live simply and do the right thing.
